Redoing the Bedroom {pt. 3}

See Part I here and Part II here.

And now... the finished project.

Drum roll please...!

Remember our closet area?

Ugh. Makes me feel icky looking at it.

Husband installing the closet that we bought. I found it at Home Depot about a month ago for $99. We decided it was what we wanted, but we couldn't afford it, so we would wait. Then, when we purchased the paint on Monday, I decided to go look at it again. The price had dropped to $78. Sold! Then, we went to check out, and it was only $48. Win!!!
Notice that while he is valiantly installing the closet, I was enjoying a {large} glass of wine.  I'm just here for moral support.

And here. Here is the final closet project! Well, almost final. We're going to get another bar to hang in the top part of the closet and doors to hide the clothes on both top and bottom. We'll also make those two in between shelves into drawers, to hid the unmentionables, which are now on the internet. Win.

Next, the vanity stand.  Remember it before?

Well, here it is now! Isn't that lovely? And the bluuuuuue! I am just so in love. It's cleaned up. I got rid of a ton of stuff. Ah. Eventually there will be something more permanent there, but for now, it's lovely.

Next up... our chair corner. I love this corner. It's comfy. It's nice to sit in {for the husband} while I'm getting ready.  But, it tended to get messy.  Clothes thrown on the chair. Junk on the floor.  The nightstand would just end up with junk on it.

Well, here's the corner now!
What do you think? It just looks fresher.  We moved the night stand to another part so that we aren't just stacking stuff.  The window is now the nightstand, with just my button lamp and our alarm clock.

And, finally. The bed area. Before. It wasn't really that bad. Just kind of color-less. And of course, lots of stuff shoved under there.
Finished!

I am just so unbelievably happy with the way the room turned out. I'm also pleased with how much we're giving away and how much we decluttered our lives by cleaning out the room. I'm donating 2 bags stuffed with dress clothes to the YWCA and their Job Outfitters program. And these are nice clothes: suit jackets, pants, skirts, dresses... stuff that's just been {literally} collecting dust because I haven't been wearing it.  I had a hard time giving them up.  But, this is worth it.  We also got rid of a bunch of plastic storage stuff... that kind that just traveled with us from the dorms.

Our room fits us better now. More colorful. More fun. And, I couldn't be more happy.

What do you guys think?
